Zhytomyr region: do not trust telephone scams!
Three residents of Zhytomyr city and resident of Korosten district for this week were the victims of crooks who are disguised as police on the phone defraud a total of nearly 25 thousand hryvnias. Now information on these facts is entered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under part 1 of article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. In the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings law enforcement officers establish persons of crooks. However, the police urges citizens to be careful and not to trust strangers, they demand money calling to mobile or home phones. In order not to suffer from "mobile fraud", the police advised to adhere to the following rules: - after the statement allegedly your loved one about what happened, tell me now will call him yourself. Check whether a caller is who he claims to be. Or call someone from the environment of your family member, who allegedly got into trouble (my wife, brother, sister, friend or colleague). - if a person calls you, calls himself a policeman, call the police yourself. Please specify in which division or Department is your relative, and immediately call the number "102". - break off the conversation with the unknown caller to gather my thoughts, control your emotions, try to decide logically and coolly. Do not let the crooks to circle around the finger itself. Remember, you need to be more careful to not become a victim of the criminal history.
