the Executive Committee of the city Council at the meeting on 18 January agreed on a draft programme of support of public organizations of Chernigiv for 2016 developed by the Department of public relations of the city Council. Programsremove on financial support of public organizations of disabled persons, veterans, families and citizens caught in difficult life circumstances, as well as those organizations that provide free legal aid to vulnerable populations and victims of human rights violations, enhance the legal capabilities of citizens. The program is developed on the basis of proposals made by each public organization. The program aims to unite efforts of bodies of Executive power and public organisations to ensure public consent and social partnership in decision of questions of social support of citizens with special needs. Only from the city budget of Chernigov in the year it is planned to provide financial assistance to 17 community organizations totaling 534 278,5 UAH, in particular: - on payment of utilities; - on payment for communication services and the Internet; - for rent. With the aim of developing civil society and solving actual problems in activity of public organizations, the members of the Executive Committee offered before July 1 of the current year to introduce a competitive approach to providing financial support to community organizations from the city budget. "You must enter a transparent, understandable format for all competition of programs of social organizations and to continue to provide the necessary financial support from the city budget for public organizations according to the results of the competition, said the mayor Vladislav Atroshenko. The Executive Committee of the city Council instructed the Department of public relations of the city Council to introduce a draft programme of support to public organizations of Chernihiv in 2016 for consideration by the city Council. At the meeting on 18 January, the Executive Committee also extended the validity of the "program of support of participants of anti-terrorist operation and members of their families – inhabitants of Chernigov 2014-2015" for 2016 prior to the adoption of the new program, approved the Regulations of the Executive Committee of the Chernihiv city Council, and considered other items on the agenda.
