For the feast of the Baptism of the rescuers of the State service of Ukraine for emergency situations in collaboration with local authorities organized rescue temporary positions in places of public events to ensure citizens safety while bathing. In the whole region amounted to 27 posts of security, guarded by 150 people of staff of divisions of the state emergency service region and local authorities. In Zhitomir in the Park of tourists waited to present the town on life support. In field tents and mobile point of heating, the specialists of the rescue Service was placed near the baptismal font, people had the opportunity to change clothes and warm up. In addition, the place of celebration worked as a field kitchen of the SSES, which tourists were treated to a delicious porridge and hot tea. To prevent accidents during mass exit on ice, employees of Management of SSES conducted with residents of Zhytomyr city information-rose’awareness of the need to observe the rules of safe behavior during your stay on the water about’objects and direct immersion. Special attention rescuers drew on the rules of conduct on the ice. Holidaymakers have received leaflets warning information. And psychologists SSES, in turn, noted the visitors that it is not advisable to drink alcohol before and after swimming. Rescuers also joined the celebrations and together with the residents of Zhytomyr city plunged into the hole. Traditionally it is believed that bathing in Baptism cleanses the spirit, strengthens the body and gives strength for the whole year.
