Investigative Department of Prosecutor's office of Rivne region completed pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on suspicion of a law enforcement officer who has committed criminal offenses under part 2 of article 190, and part 4 of article 27, part 2, article 15, part 3 of article 369 of the criminal code of Ukraine (appropriation of another's property by deception and attempted incitement to giving undue advantage). - Found that senior police inspector of the Rovno city Department of militia, by deception took control of funds of the inhabitant of the regional center in the amount of 4.5 thousand UAH. For this money the militiaman has promised to resolve the issue of the failure of men to a criminal liability, - said the Deputy Prosecutor of the region Andrey Borovik. – Money police captain promised to send as unlawful benefit by an investigator who allegedly was investigating a criminal case on the fact of theft. A policeman and his accomplice-colleague (also a police inspector, Junior Lieutenant of militia), through which resident exactly handed over the money, exposed the prosecutors and the SBU in August 2015. At the time of arrest both were in the line of duty?ties and had his service weapon. Now the indictment against the captain of militia is directed to court for consideration. According to the law, the offences provided in the form of imprisonment for the term from 4 till 8 years with confiscation of property or without it and with special confiscation. The indictment against the accomplice, Junior Lieutenant of militia, who were transferred to the funds was sent to the court back in November of last year. The court last found guilty of a criminal offense under part 2 of article 190 of the criminal code of Ukraine (appropriation of another's property by deception, committed by prior conspiracy) and was sentenced to a fine.
