In the Rivne region, a man sentenced to 7 years in prison for the death of his wife
Dubno local Prosecutor's office ensured the participation in the judicial review of the indictment against 47-year-old resident of Dubno, Rivne region in the Commission of a criminal offense under part 2 of article 121 of the criminal code of Ukraine (deliberate heavy injury, entailed death of the victim). This event took place in September last year in the apartment where the couple lived. In the course of a dispute arising late in the evening, the owner, who was intoxicated, attacked his wife with a kitchen knife. Them the man struck the woman two blows to the thigh legs. Subsequently, as was established by forensic examination, the cause of death was massive blood loss resulting from stab wounds of the right Shin with damage to the tibial artery. In court the public Prosecutor has provided and justified the compelling and indisputable evidence in confirmation of the guilt of the accused. - Taking into account the position of the prosecution, the verdict of the Dubno district court from 05.02.2016 man found guilty of a criminal offence and sentenced to punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 7 years, - said the Prosecutor Dubno local Prosecutor's office Oleg Stetsyuk. It should be noted that a verdict of guilty has not entered into force, parties to proceedings have the right to appeal against in an appeal order in the term required by law.
