From the beginning of 2016 in the Ternopil region recorded 6 cases of rabies
the Meeting of the State extraordinary antiepizootic Commission at the Ternopil regional state administration was held on 10 February. The participation of first Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Ivan Ratbat. On the agenda were discussed about the situation regarding African swine fever in Ukraine, measures to prevent outbreaks in the region, collaboration of all concerned services in the event of suspicion and outbreak. They also spoke about neseccarily disposal of dead pigs near S. Oryshkivtsi of Lanovetsky district. Also during the work of the Commission considered the question of epizootic situation regarding rabies and its prevention methods. According to the head of Department of ensuring antiepizootic measures of the main Directorate of veterinary medicine in the Ternopil region, V. I. Markov, 2015 held in 287 studies of pathologic material of rabies identified 56 cases, openly 52 unfavorable items. Studied 143 Fox, of them 25 patients, 66 dogs, including 10 patients, 62 cats, 18 patients, cattle – 3, patients 1, 2 badgers, 1 the patient. 1 also investigated the otter, which also is sick with rabies. Most cases of rabies registered in Kremenets, Berezhany, Zbarazh, Shumskiy, Borshchiv districts. For the year improved from 32 rabies-affected areas, as of 1.01. 2016 on the remainder there were 32. In 2016 year, there were 6 cases of rabies (Fox – Zbarazh, Kozova, Kremenets, Lanivtsi, cats – S. Vasilkovka, S. and Zalesie). For the January 2016 improved 2 affected settlements in Kosovska and Lanovetsky area. Causes of rabies such as foxes and stray dogs.
