Medical representatives of the Lutsk community participated in the discussion of topical issues of family medicine and Pediatrics in the city of Kiev
members of the medical community of the city at the end of last week were sent to cities and participated in activities and discussed current issues in the healthcare industry. Thus, in particular, with the assistance of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine, the Ministry of health of Ukraine, Ukrainian Association of family medicine organized a two-day training "Effective counselling on immunization against poliomyelitis". From the Volyn region participated in the training took Lydia Kryvdik, chief physician KZ "Lutsk center of primary medical care No. 1", which also is the chief extraordinary specialist in General practice and family medicine of the Department of health regional state administration. So, during two days experts from different regions of Ukraine discussed urgent issues concerning the situation around the vaccination against polio in the country, existing programs, and emergency measures as are necessary to protect children from an incurable disease. The training emphasized the role of the family physician in the organization of vaccination, which must not only know the health history of the family, but also to possess communicative skills that would allow to dispel societal myths and to convince parents to protect their children from many illnesses (including polio) by vaccination. By the way, recently Ambassador of the European Union, ambassadors of Canada and France issued a Statement in which has urged to continue to vaccinate children against polio in Ukraine, not to spread biased and false rumors about the quality of the vaccine, which is confirmed at the international level, not to allow corruption and politics get in the way of public health and protection of Ukrainian children. Instead, make every effort to have all children who have not received the required number of doses of OPV vaccine, was able to get it as soon as possible and to be protected. As you know, Ukraine is certified as free of circulating wild poliovirus, but included in those areas where circulation may be resumed. Only vaccination coverage 95% of children can stop circulation poliovirus and to ensure collective immunity to protect the country from a terrible, incurable disease. In addition, during the event were discussed and the organization of primary health care in terms of the implementation of decentralization reforms and their equipment according to existing requirements, the development of local forms of medicines, and the like. At this time (17-18 March) city pediatrician of the Department of health of the city Council Svetlana Nikolaenko took part in scientific-practical conference "Actual issues of clinical and social Pediatrics and pediatric neurology", which was held at the National medical Academy of postgraduate education named after P. L. Shupyk. During the event touched on the most painful problems in Pediatrics, strategic directions of development of the industry, and also discussed the issues of social Pediatrics, orphan disease, pediatric neurology and psychiatry, rehabilitation of children. These measures enabled the participants to gain new knowledge and to solve a number of important issues for the future development of family medicine and Pediatrics.
