In Chernihiv accepted proposals for grant program to support volunteer initiatives from the Crimea SOS
Crimea SOS and the UN Agency for refugees continue grant program to support initiatives of immigrants in 17 regions of Ukraine. Geography of the project covers Kiev, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Lutsk, Rivne, Kherson, Kirovograd, Zhitomir, Vinnitsa, Khmelnitsky, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Cherkassy. The program aims to support the settlers in attempts to make independent decisions and to defend their rights and freedoms. The grants may be awarded to projects aimed at: - integration and development of a dialogue between displaced persons and local communities; - protection of the rights of immigrants; - strengthening initiatives and communities of internally displaced persons (VPO); - supporting women and addressing gender-based violence and the protection of people with special needs and other disadvantaged groups. To participate in the grant competition are invited: - as a registered organization, or non-member volunteer group, consisting of at least three people, two of whom are immigrants (not less than 50% of the group must be displaced); volunteer group/organization that actively works in the field of forced migrants. Requirements for grant applications: - the project budget up to UAH 25 000 (the amount may be reviewed in individual cases); - draft non-profit, non-political and non-discriminatory; the project is aimed at solving challenges/problems of different nature faced by internally displaced persons; - the project is relevant in the region of its plan of implementation; - adequate number of direct/indirect beneficiaries; - the long-term result of the project; - desirable cooperation with the government and other public organizations/initiative groups at local/national levels. Please note: this program is not aimed at improving the living conditions and humanitarian situation of a particular family, to purchase food and non-food products intended for humanitarian assistance to displaced people and to cover long-term administrative costs and salaries of project participants.
