In Chernigov opened X the Jewish culture festival
3 April in Chernigov solemnly opened the X festival of Jewish culture named after Shalom Aleichem. The festival was attended by mayor Vladislav Atroshenko. In the Philharmonic center came from the members of the local Jewish community, Jewish music fans. This festival was founded in 2005 by a decision of the mayor. The Jewish community is the biggest in Chernihiv, it has about three thousand people. The community has its own creative teams, charitable Foundation, print edition. Vladislav Atroshenko solemnly handed letters of gratitude to active members of the Jewish community, among which the famous artist Semyon Rudnitsky. On the first day of the festival, the audience heard performances by the brass band and choir of bandura-players of the Philharmonic center, creative groups and communities of the city. The program of "Jewish melodies" gave the audience a musician Andrey Tereschenko. The anniversary festival runs in the city until April 10. It also will be held international scientific seminar "Jews of left-Bank Ukraine. History and culture" and the play "Boy Motl" by the works of Shalom Aleichem.
