Julia Vasenko has presented our city to the II the European Congress of Local Government
April 5-6 of this year in Krakow took place the II European Congress of Local self-Government, organized by the Institute for Eastern Studies. It became a platform for exchange of views and a meeting place for leaders of local governments and regional elites with representatives of state administrations, public organizations and business representatives. The Congress was attended by the Secretary of the Lutsk city Council Julia Vasenko. She said that members of Congress were about a thousand people from different countries, in particular from Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands. Large representation compared with other countries was Ukraine. Last year, Ukraine has about 50 participants and this year over 100. Among the speakers of the Ukrainians were not very many. At the panel discussion and made a report, which was dedicated to attracting investment to the city, the city Chairman of Ivano-Frankivsk. Members of Congress also were mayors of the Ternopol, Zhitomir. Julia Vasenko spoke at the panel discussion, which dealt with the innovative administration, i.e. the approach of the administration to residents. They were discussing the topic of innovation on the approximation of the administration, who represent city residents. Very well chosen speakers who talked about the implementation of innovative technologies at the country level, there were also representatives of companies who develop software that allows residents easy access to the online services that can provide the municipalities. Julia Vasenko told how to implement e-services in the city of Lutsk. In particular, showed the work of AHPC, which is the best in Ukraine, where there are also more than 300 administrative services. He also spoke about the “Open city”, which is on the site of Lutsk city Council. Presented the online reception of deputies, where the residents of Lutsk leave their treatment and the possibility of access of citizens to the discussion of decisions submitted for session of city Council. Also informed about e-petitions, budget requests, which are posted on the website of the Lutsk city Council. According to Yulia Vasenko, presentation of Lutsk received a large number of calls of the reviews. The members of the panel expressed the view that luck is an example of innovation concerning the cooperation of the city Council and the community. Foreign colleagues noted that Kyiv is moving in the right direction. After all, the city needs to determine what services residents want and how they can be successfully implemented, because each locality has its own specifics. In addition, Lutsk is still something to strive for. “This meeting was effective. We have adequately presented our city, showed the opportunities that we have today and the potential that it has,” said Julia Vasenko. She also noted that there are interesting programs that have been successfully implemented in local government in Poland. This experience can be study, analyze and try to enter.
