The capital of Bukovina attracts more tourists

During the first quarter of this year the tourist tax funded local basket by 39.4 thous., which is 18.9 thousand UAH., or almost twice more than last year. Registered in Chernivtsi LIGHTS 36 are payers of tourist tax (including 10 legal entities and 26 private entrepreneurs) producing tourist fee for the provision of services related to temporary stay. According to the Tax code of Ukraine payers of the fee are citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons arriving to the territory of the administrative-territorial unit, where a decision of village, town and city Council about establishing a tourist fee, and receive (consume) services in temporary accommodation (overnight) with the obligation to leave the seat in the specified period. Tax agents charge a fee when providing services related to temporary accommodation (overnight), and indicate the amount of the paid fee as a separate line on the invoice (receipt) for accommodation. The tax rate is only 1 percent of the cost of accommodation (excluding value added tax) and the cost does not include meals and other services. And, despite the positive trends of tourist income, hopefully leaving nominal sum of money collection in the local basket, the guests of our city will come back to Chernivtsi to continue to discover beautiful architecture, European culture and the hospitality of the residents of the capital of Bukovina.
