Psychological service of Zhytomyr: essays on the occasion of the professional holiday
23 April is celebrated psychologist day. Since the establishment of this holiday (2004) in Ukraine the profession of a psychologist is becoming increasingly popular. In today's pace of life the position of staff psychologist is introduced in many institutions of education and science, health and social protection of the population, in industry, law enforcement and services for overcoming of consequences of emergency situations in the organizations providing assistance to internally displaced persons and others. In recent years, there is a need for the involvement of clinical psychologists to work with members of the antiterrorist operation and their families to overcome trauma. In this direction together representatives of government agencies, public institutions and volunteers of the region. At different stages of psychological assistance work is conducted individually and in groups in the form of trainings with the use of animal therapy (in particular, kanstrup and hippotherapy), etherapeutics techniques and methods of Gestalt therapy. Within the above approaches in the field are introduced: the canadian project "Each hero" in Berdichevsky's hospital of veterans of war (project coordinator Kalyna Kardash), training seminars on the use of methods animaloterapiya representatives and ABF "Bereginya Polesie" (Olga Mankovsky and hippotherapist Olesya Marchuk), classes on decorative-applied art and painting organized by the members of the IPO "ART village" (chaired by Elena Slavova), training programmes for psychologists regarding aspects of psychological trauma and its consequences (practical psychologist, psychotherapist, Gestalt therapist Svetlana Onoprienko). Coordination of their professional activities provides Zhytomyr regional Center of practical psychology and social work, established in 2000 on the basis of Zhytomyr regional Institute of postgraduate pedagogical education. From 2014, the Centre cooperates with the Zhytomyr regional Association of social workers on the issues of psychological rehabilitation of children from families who suffered during the ATO.
