Citizens laid flowers to the memorial sign “to Victims of Chernobyl”
30-Ty years ago, there was a terrible technological disaster -- explosion of the 4th unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. A radiation leak has caused significant harm to the environment. The accident around Chernobyl created a 30 kilometer zone. Were evacuated and thousands of people who are forced to leave their homes. This event changed the lives of many Ukrainians. On liquidation of the Chernobyl accident were mobilized considerable human and technical resources. Many of the liquidators received a fatal dose of radiation, many later died of different diseases, received a chronic disease. Unfortunately, every year decreases the number of liquidators. on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident on memorial complex “Eternal glory” the clergy held a service, and members of the public, labor collectives laid flowers to the memorial sign “to Victims of Chernobyl”. Laying flowers also took place near a memorial plaque for Anatoly Grishchenko, on Liberty Avenue. The event was attended by Chairman of regional state administration Vladimir Gonik, Lutsk city mayor Mykola Romaniuk, Deputy Sergei Grigorenko, the Secretary of city Council Julia Bosenko. The rector of the Chelm Mother of God icon Michael Onischuk, addressing the audience, said: “the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, we honor in a special day. Tomorrow Judas sell Christ. we honour people who have made a different choice — not to sell, not to run and to pay the cost of his own life. This price is hard to understand living. It is understandable to those it pays. We all need to appreciate it and to thank my life to those who went to eliminate the consequences of the accident and saved the Ukraine, gave the opportunity to be born the mass of people, we should live with you. Those people made the right choice. Thank God that lived then, such warm-hearted people who rescued the future, not his life.
