Zhytomyr: observe traffic rules!
At the initiative of the Ministry of health of Ukraine, the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,with the involvement of relevant ministries and authorities, regional and Kiev city state administrations, international and national organisations from 16 to 22 may 2016 in Ukraine will be held the Week of road safety. Goal of the Week – Association of efforts of state bodies, business, NGOs, scientific community, mass media and society, implementation of national and international programmes on road safety and promoting the importance of compliance with traffic rules. In 2016 the Week of road safety will be held in two stages: from 16 to 22 may and from 14 to 20 November. According to the world health organization, Ukraine ranks fifth in the number of fatalities in road accidents after Malaysia, Argentina, Greece, and Cambodia, and is one of the most dangerous countries for road users. The risk of injury or death on our roads is 5-6 times higher than in developed European countries. The main reason is the low level of consciousness of drivers. Non-compliance with the requirements of the rules of the road, committing uncontrolled maneuvers and overtaking with departure on an oncoming traffic lane causes severe traffic accidents.
