In Zhytomyr region the deputies of the regional Council are actively working
may 19, deputies of the regional Council approved the complex program of the year honoring the participants of liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl accident and the memory of the victims of the Chernobyl disaster in Zhytomyr region for 2016 on presentation of Zhytomyr regional state administration. In Zhytomyr region as of 1 January 2016 is 1 of 248.3 thousand employees, of which 269 thousand or 21.5% of the victims from the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, including 9.4 thousand people with disabilities, the disabilities connected with the Chernobyl disaster; 59,1 thousand affected children, 375 of which have a disability associated with the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. The program provides: * create a reliable system of preservation of health of citizens affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant that will help to reduce their level of disability and mortality; * to ensure effective social protection of the affected population to create an adequate level of assurance of life; * strengthen radiological protection of the citizens living in the contaminated areas that would contribute to economic rehabilitation and recovery of contaminated territories. Also at the session the deputies adopted the decision on amendments to the budget for 2016. And approved the renaming of rural councils of Zhytomyr region: the October village Council Popelnyansky district at the April, Leninskiy village Council Radomyshl district at Stavitsky. In addition, the deputies also considered a number of questions of municipal property, namely the renegotiation of contracts and dismissal of heads of municipal institutions.
