In Sochi hosted a scientific conference on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Union of Zhytomyr
4 June, jubilee scientific conference continued its work in Radomyshl in Zhytomyr. The first day of the conference took place in Kiev. The conference is organized by the national University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Faculty of Humanities, Department of history), Kyiv Archdiocese of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church Ukrainian Catholic University (Humanities and the Philosophical and theological faculties). Professor Igor Skoczylas noticed that the Radomyshl 1747-1795 for years fulfilled the functions of actual "capital" of the Uniate Church and the residence of Kiev metropolitans Florian Hrebickova), Feliciano Philip (Volodkevich), Jason (Smogorzewska) and Theodosius (Rostotsky). The second conference day began with a Prayer service in Christ the Merciful chapel in the castle of Radomyshl. Prayer service held by the Bishop assistant of the Kiev Bishop Joseph milyan. After the prayer, the participants had the opportunity to see the historical and cultural complex "Radomysl Castle" and a unique collection of artifacts of the Museum of Ukrainian home icons-the "Soul of Ukraine". "I don't know for sure historians will say, is that the Union was signed in Zhytomyr and Radomyshl. After all, in Radomyshl secondary school built on the ants of the former Metropolitan's house of the UGCC, and there are traces of our existence," said Bishop. The conference participants considered the following issues: religion and culture of right-Bank Ukraine, religious painting of the right – Bank Ukraine late XVII- the first third, the Union in the Kyiv and Bratslav voivodeships and others.
