The anniversary of the fire at the oil depot “BRSM-nafta”: as it was
8 June 2015. This date is forever inscribed in the history of the fire and rescue service of Ukraine. On this day in tank farm “the Belarusian Republican youth Union-nafta " was one of the most ambitious and complex of fires not only in Ukraine but also in Europe. June 8, came to the rescue the message on a fire at the oil depot in Vasylkiv district. First to the scene were sent to fire and rescue units of SES of Ukraine with the most closely situated localities: cornflowers, glevaha, Kalynivka. All in all, the elimination of fire were involved 939 people and 117 units, in shifts around the clock at the same time worked, more than 200 people and 55 vehicles. Only thanks to the selfless actions of firefighters-rescuers in the first 12 hours to prevent the spread of fire outside the tank farm area, in particular next to the oil depot “CLOS”, a military base, where ammunition was stored and as a whole dozens of times to reduce the magnitude of emergency. The fire lasted 90 hours, the fire was contained within the perimeter on June 9. However, even before June 20, from time to time, in different places recovered from the combustion of fuel. So finally the fire was extinguished on June 20. The most tragic day for the time of extinguishing the fire was the morning of June 9, when in tank farm explosion. The explosion that claimed the lives of three rescuers:Maxim Glazkov – Deputy chief ARZ SP GU gschs of Ukraine in the Kiev region, Lieutenant Colonel of service of civil protection, Anton Sasovskogo – fire rescue 15 PRNG GU gschs of Ukraine in Kiev, Sergeant service civil protection, Andrei Tarasenko-Deputy head of the ARZ SP GU gschs of Ukraine in Kiev, the major of service of civil protection. They were professionals their business, heroes who fulfilled their service and civic duty’communication and gave up the most valuable – its life – in the fight with the fire element. Words of heroism is indeed true and not an exaggeration. After the death of firefighters awards found their heroes. Maxim Glazkov, Anton Psychiatry and Andrey Tarasenko awarded posthumously the order "For courage" III degree. After extinguishing the fire from the reserve Fund of the State budget of Ukraine State service for emergency situations has been allocated 47 million 745 thousand UAH. In particular: 1 160.00 thousand million hryvnia for providing one-time financial assistance to the victims and the families of persons who died during the liquidation of consequences of emergency situations, at the rate of 200 thousand hryvnia, — for each of the deceased family member and 70 thousand hryvnia, — on each victim. 46 million 585 thousand hryvnia, — for the compensation of losses, connected with liquidation of consequences of emergency situations. In addition, seven ' pits the victims were additionally paid 491 thousand 850 UAH. This one-time assistance that is provided according to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 11.07.2007 ¹ 908 "On approval of Procedure and conditions for payment a lump sum in case of death, injury, or wounds, disease, or disability of persons of ordinary and commanding structure of service of civil protection". The families of the victims as a whole paid 1 million 91 thousand 500 UAH. The widow of Andrei Tarasenko was allocated one-room apartment in Kiev. Cash payments to victims and families of victims was through an insurance Fund against accidents in the workplace. At the expense of the state budget (401, 9 million UAH.), special Fund (USD 9 million) and international assistance (USD 107.4 million.) The state service of Ukraine on emergency situations in the 2015-2016 acquired 56 units of fire and rescue vehicles and more than 160 km of fire hoses, rescue machinery 19 units, 12 sets of equipment of radiation, chemical and biological protection, 1 24 thousand sets of self-contained breathing apparatus on compressed air, the means 36 sets the search of explosive objects, 3 thousand 920 units of protective fire clothing. Brotherhood of the fire is continually families of fallen comrades and always pam’atetime about brave brave rescuers — Andrew, Anton and Maxim. They are still part of our rescue community.
