According to the operative data of the State forest resources Agency of Ukraine last days workers of the state forest guard eliminated 6 fires on the area of 2.4 hectares in the forests of the state enterprises, institutions and organizations belonging to the sphere of management of SFA. The state forestry Agency of Ukraine urges citizens to observe fire safety rules and recommends to refrain from visiting forests in connection with the increase in temperature and increase in the number of forest fires. "In some areas already introduced special fire-prevention mode which provides for the restriction of stay of citizens in forests, the migration of all services involved in the detection and suppression of forest fires around the clock, barriers, information boards, construction of fire lines and vacation spots, recreation points, creation of mobile groups of employees of state forest protection and employees of the state service for emergency situations", – said T. V. a. Head of Department Kristina Yushkevich. She also noted that the majority of fires in ecosystems arise through the human factor: thrown a cigarette butt, lit the fire. Forest fires are the greatest disaster for the forest. For a few minutes they can destroy or damage forest plantations, which was cultivated for decades on hundreds and sometimes thousands of acres. At the same time destroyed not only the forest vegetation is also killed wild animals, birds, insects. "The problem of fires is especially relevant for state enterprises of the southern and Eastern regions where forest plantations perform the protective function and require significant budgetary funding," said Christine Yushkevich. Note that with the participation of employees of state forest protection, SSES and law enforcement agencies regularly conducted forest raids to identify violators who do not comply with the requirements of fire safety in forests. In particular, in Transcarpathia measures for restriction of access of transport in the forest. This work is done mostly in forests, where the highest probability of occurrence of forest fires. YTD departmental firefighting units liquidated 205 forest fires on the area of 125 hectares. The state forest protection continues to implement the preventive organisational measures to prevent the occurrence of forest fires and prompt them to extinguish.
