With 2 to 4 July, the delegation of Vinnytsia region, headed by the Chairman of the Khmelnytsky state administration Evgeny Butkevich at the invitation of the Slonim district Executive Committee of Vinnytsia regional Association of Belarusians visited Slonim Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration. The delegation also included the head of Department on Affairs of nationalities and religions state administration Igor Saletsky and Chairman of the Vinnytsia regional Association of the Belarusians Vladimir Kacheliba. Participation in the official events to celebrate one of the most important holidays of the Belarusian people hosted foreign delegations from Latvia, Bulgaria and the Russian Federation. Chairman of the Khmelnytsky state administration Evgeny Butkevich congratulated on the Independence Day all citizens of the Republic of Belarus. In his speech, he noted that Ukraine 20 years successfully develops multilateral cooperation with the Republic of Belarus: "We share a common history of many periods, related languages and similar cultural traditions. However, the similarity of industrial, economic and cultural development of Khmelnytskyi and Slonim districts opens up broad prospects for establishing economic, humanitarian, cultural and spiritual ties between our regions." During the meeting the sides discussed the practical implementation of bilateral cooperation between Khmelnytsky regional state administration Vinnytsia region (Ukraine) and Slonimsky regional Executive Committee (Republic of Belarus). In particular, the Chairman of the Slonim district Executive Committee has called for deepening and development of partnerships between Slonimsky and Hmelnitski areas and stressed that their position is clear: "We are convinced that there are many new and important opportunities for further strengthening relations between us." Oleg targonsky has accepted the invitation of Chairman of the Khmelnytsky state administration Eugene Butkeviciene celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine, where it is planned to sign cooperation agreements. After the official part of the meeting, the residents together with the foreign delegations and the leadership of the Slonim district joined the celebrations that took place in the Central streets of Slonim. In addition, the head of Department on Affairs of nationalities and religions state administration Igor Saletsky congratulated on the independence Day of foreign Ukrainians, who live in the Republic of Belarus. In particular: • Chairman of Public Association "Ukrainian cultural Centre "Sich"; • Ukrainian scientific-educational Union "Bereginya"; • Grodno cultural and educational Association of Ukrainians "Barvinok"; • Organization "Ukrainian House".
