Zhytomyr region takes the 4th place in Ukraine on volumes of production of milk
As of 1 July 2016 in all categories of farms of the region were kept of the cattle – 200.7 thousand heads, which is 0.5 thous. heads or 0.2 percent more than last year, including cows – 110,4 thousand heads. For number of cows, the region holds the 6th place among the regions of the state. In January-June 2016 were sold for slaughter of livestock and poultry in live weight of 36.3 thousand tonnes 287,0 thousand tons of milk, which is the same as last year. In the agricultural enterprises made 54,3 thousand tons of milk, which is 3.1 thousand tons (6.1 percent) more in 2015. In terms of milk production the region occupies the 4th place in the state.
