Zhytomyr region on the 4th place in Ukraine for the production of agricultural products in
it is reported by the statistical service of the region. For the first half of the year produced a UAH 1.6 billion. The growth was 3.6 % in comparison with the corresponding period of last year, – said the head of the Main Department of statistics in the Zhytomyr region Galina pashinska. For the 6 months made of 36.3 thousand tons of meat in live weight, 287 thousand tons of milk, almost 339 million eggs. The egg production increased compared to the corresponding period last year by 12%, meat and milk – decreased by 0.8%. At the beginning of July in all categories of farms contained 201 thousand head of cattle, including 110 thousand cows, and pigs 166 thousand, 31 thousand sheep and goats, 8 million birds. Compared with last year, the number of cattle increased by 0.2%, sheep and goats – 2%, poultry – by 6%. At the same time, the number of cows and pigs decreased by 6%.
