In luck, religious organizations may reduce tax liability on real property other than land
In connection with the changes made in the p. p. p. 266.2.2 266.2 article 266 of the Tax code of Ukraine, religious organizations – property owners, the statutes (regulations) registered in accordance with the law, and property which are used exclusively for purposes of statutory activities, including those objects, which operate based including religious organizations, charitable institutions (shelters, boarding schools, hospitals, and so forth), except real estate, in which the production and/or business can reduce tax liability on real property other than land from 1 July 2015. The law of Ukraine from may 14, 2015 No. 420-VIII "On amendments to article 266 of the Tax code of Ukraine regarding exemption from taxation of property of religious organizations" (hereinafter – the Law ¹ 420) the changes regarding the taxation of immovable property other than land, which came into force on 01 July 2015. Thus, according to p. p. and p. p. p. 266.2.2 266 article 266 of the Tax code of Ukraine from December 02, 2010 ¹ 2755-VI with amendments (hereinafter – TCU) is not subject to tax on immovable property other than land, properties owned by religious organizations, the statutes (regulations) registered in accordance with the law, and used exclusively for purposes of statutory activities, including those that operate based including religious organizations, charitable institutions (shelters, boarding schools, hospitals and the like), in addition to real estate, in which the production and/or business. Paragraph 3 in sect. II "Final provisions" of Law No. 420 recommended to local authorities within one month from the date of publication of Law No. 420 to reconsider the decision about establishment for 2015 of the property tax (tax on real property other than land) for properties owned by religious organizations.
