August 5 in Rio de Janeiro start of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad. 10 500 athletes from 206 countries of the world for 17 days will compete for 306 sets of medals in 42 Olympic disciplines. It will be the first Games in South America for the entire 120-year history of the modern Olympic games. On this occasion, the Kiev Maidan, Lutsk there was held a ceremony of raising the national Flag of Ukraine, flag of the National Olympic Committee with the participation of head of oblast state administration Volodymyr Gunica, the Chairman of regional Council of the Roman Karpiuk, city mayor Mykola Romaniuk. Mr Huncik in his welcome speech stressed that in his time the rulers of the States during the Olympic games all the wars stopped and expressed hope that now the Olympic Committee will appeal to the international community to stop the armed conflict. And wished in a fair fight to defeat the strongest athletes to get the results to which they had been preparing for four years. Roman Karpyuk wished everybody wins and read a welcome address, which was sent by the President of the National Olympic Committee, Hero of Ukraine, Olympic champion Sergey Bubka. Nicholas Romaic, welcoming participants of the ceremony, said: “each of us his heart ached when he raised the State Flag of Ukraine the flag of the National Olympic Committee. Residents are proud that five residents are taking part in the Olympic games. Thanks to the coaches who have trained Olympic athletes, and teachers of children and youth sports schools, which educate young talents.” City Council, Directorate of physical culture and sport joined in the preparation of our top athletes at the games of the 2016 Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro. They had organized a training camp in preparation for important competitions. Also on 26 July 2016 the decision of the session of Lutsk city Council of Lutsk Olympians as an incentive for successful performance of allocated financial assistance in the amount of 60 thousand UAH. The mayor wished our Olympians Volyn successful races and medal finishes. “Cheer for our Olympians at the XXXI summer Olympic games”, - said Mykola Romaniuk.
