In Transcarpathia will present the advantages of the European strategy for the Danube region
the Ukrainian Institute for international policy invites representatives of the Transcarpathian media roundtable "European strategy of the Danube region: opportunities and challenges of the Transcarpathian region". The event will take place on 27 September in the small hall of the Transcarpathian regional state administration. Beginning at 10:00. During the event there will be a discussion of the European strategy for the Danube region, the analysis of the benefits of SDR to stimulate regional development. Objectives of the meeting: - to present the advantages and main areas of work of the European TRANS regional initiatives of the European strategy for the Danube region which includes Ukraine, and Transcarpathian region in particular, as one of 4 regions of Ukraine in the Danube river basin; - to present best practices and projects of participating countries SDR; to discuss the main development priorities of the region and to identify possible common themes that can be developed through the tool SDR; - to gather representatives of local authorities in the region, deputies, expert organizations, representatives of cities and GSS region that show interest in the formation of active regional policy of the region and development of its potential; - definition of priorities of Ukraine in SDR. The event is organized by the Ukrainian Institute for international policy in partnership with the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine with the support of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine. The key objectives SDR is the strengthening of international relations, attracting political attention to the need for the development of the Danube as a region with great potential, strengthening cooperation between authorities at all levels to overcome the economic inequality of the countries in the Danube river region. Among priority directions of development of the region: transport, energy, culture, tourism, water quality, environmental risks, biodiversity, technology, business development, human potential, security, and others.
