In the Rivne region initiated pre-trial investigation on the fact of giving false testimony witness
the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region, brought in the Unified register of pretrial investigations the information about Commission of a criminal offense under part 1 of article 384 of the criminal code of Ukraine, the fact of giving false testimony. So, when the court is considering an indictment against a group of persons who are accused of committing a terrorist act and other serious crimes, 10 witnesses substantially changed their testimony compared with those that were given to them during pre-trial investigation. In particular, the witnesses gave at the hearing testified that on the day of the crime (may 2014) they have not seen armed and dressed in camouflage clothing and balaclavas people, namely, the accomplices of the defendants, who said the residents of Sarny district of intention to establish control over the amber mining. Thus, this evidence completely contradicts those witnesses gave during a pretrial investigation the investigator, as they are warned about criminal liability for knowingly giving false testimony. The Prosecutor's office of Rivne region, criminal proceedings were submitted to pre-trial investigation to the National police authority of Ukraine in Rivne region. The pre-trial investigation is taken by Prosecutor's office on control. Reference: in accordance with the sanction of the specified article of the criminal code the criminal offence is punished with correctional labor for up to 2 years or arrest for up to 6 months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to 2 years.
