At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chernihiv city Council changes and additions to the regulations on holding an open architectural competition for the best project proposal the construction of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine. The decision to declare an open architectural competition for the best project proposal the construction of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine approved at the last Executive Committee meeting held on 15 September. According to the head of the Department of architecture and urban planning of the city Council Sergey Kalyuzhny, changes and additions to the Regulation on the competition shall be made taking into account the proposals of the public and members of the working group for formulating more clearly the objectives and tasks of the competition. In particular, the regulations specified that the objectives of the contest is filling Memorial visokay highly spiritual and content, perpetuate the blessed memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and fighters for freedom, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as the use of innovative technologies in the structure of information security of citizens of Ukraine. As previously reported, the project proposals for the contest will be accepted from 26 October to 26 December 2016. By results of competition the jury will make the decision on definition of the best project proposals. To celebrate the selected proposals are assigned to three awards: - first prize – 10 000 (ten thousand) UAH; - second prize – 6 000 (six thousand) UAH; - third prize – 4 000 (four thousand) hryvnia. Financing of competition is carried out at the expense of the city budget. The results of the contest will take place until 10 January 2017. The elements of the Memorial should be made of durable sustainable materials such as bronze, granite, other natural stone. Participation in contest is free.
