The issue of preventing manifestations of discrimination and inter-ethnic conflicts under special control of the authorities and law enforcement authorities in Vinnytsia region (photo)
At the Center of national cultures of Vinnytsia region 11 of October of this year held a working meeting of employees of management on Affairs of nationalities and religions state administration, Security Service of Ukraine in Vinnytsia region, the Main Department of the National Police in Vinnytsia region and Vinnytsia representatives of the Roma community of Vinnitsa and S. Ivanov, Kalinowski district. The purpose of the meeting was the discussion of the events established in sec. Loshchynivka Izmail district of Odessa region with the purpose of prevention of discrimination and inter-ethnic conflicts in the region. The Deputy chief of management on Affairs of nationalities and religions, Ratynskaya A. P. noted that the region has all the conditions for the free development of all national communities living on its territory. Management is working hard to support the activities of national cultural societies and ensures their right to conduct their work for the promotion and development of national cultures. He presented the work being carried out by the representatives of the Roma community and appealed to the leaders of the Roma national cultural societies with a request to conduct interviews for law enforcement in their communities. Also discussed the status of education of children of Roma in mainstream educational institutions of the region in the new academic year. Law enforcement officials called the winery and the region has noted a stable situation in the region concerning manifestations of intolerance on ethnic grounds, but noted isolated cases of theft committed by the migratory representatives of Roma nationality in Vinnitsa and region. According to the results of the working meeting the decision on further cooperation with the local Roma community with law enforcement, the updating of the repertoire phones for immediate contact in case of need for rapid response to any manifestations of ethnic discrimination with a view to their prevention.
