The Rivne region: on Duenshine sentenced to 3 years in prison,the mother, to the fault of the death of her two-month baby
Agreeing with the position of Dubno local Prosecutor's office, the court found sufficient pre-trial investigation collected evidence for the conviction of a young woman for willful failure to adhere to its statutory responsibilities for child care, which led to the death of the latter. - It is proved that the mother, being in an alcohol intoxication, left in the summer in the stroller of their 2-month-old son for 4-5 hours outdoors in the hottest time of day when the temperature reached 30 degrees Celsius, - said the head of Dubno local Prosecutor Vasyl Martyniuk. The child became ill. Doctors who arrived on a call, only verified death of the kid. A forensic examination confirmed that the boy's death was caused by overheating, namely heat exhaustion and dehydration due to the influence of prolonged exposure to excessively high ambient temperature, leading to acute circulatory problems and the development of multiple organ failure. The actions of the women qualified investigators, police in coordination with the Dubno local Prosecutor's office under article 166 of the criminal code of Ukraine (malicious non-performance of statutory responsibilities for child care, which entailed grave consequences). According to the verdict of the Dubno district court 14.12.2016 the woman was found guilty of committing a criminal offense, and given the fact that it is deprived of parental rights to her four children due to neglect over them, she was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment, - said the Prosecutor. It should be noted that the verdict of the court has not yet entered. The participants in the trial have the right to appeal in the statutory period.
