TH "Aratta" reports on the implementation of the project in the framework of the Program of development of civil society in the city of Chernihiv
In the framework of the Program of development of civil society in the city of Chernihiv for the years 2016-2020, with the support of the Chernihiv city authorities CSABA "Aratta" has implemented the project "Step forward". We talk a lot about how to help people with limited mobility in their environment, how to facilitate their life, to create conditions to provide assistance or support. But few are talking about how to create for people with special needs conditions to ensure that they were comfortable outside the house: on the streets of our cities, in public transport or in restaurants and cafes. What we should do and how to behave to them with us was comfortable? And the first step in this direction is the fall of the wall of indifference. Now in Ukraine we are witnessing the emergence of a generation of parents with a new, modern vision who really want to change the situation for their children, because overcoming stereotypes and support lead to the fact that things can begin to change and from one person. And when this friendly team, or organization, that problems are solved efficiently. Creative team artistic Director of integration Theatre "Deposed", Irina Songs offers a new method: create a mixed creative teams for art and drama therapy, for the Amateur of mastering professional knowledge, abilities and skills. The theatre has its own history of success and wants to share their experience with the company, and the project "Step forward" has contributed to the shift in the interpretation of the concept of disability, where the medical model came to be social, where in the center of it all stands a man and his personality. In a short period of the project we communicated with people with special needs and their parents from different organizations of the city of Chernihiv and the region. Was made leaflet to promote the potential and contribution of people with special needs in the development of society. This is a significant steps to increase the level of socialization of young people with special needs. It is important that they were seen in our environment not only as those who need help, but as those have their own special mission – to give us something to confirm and show.
