Crops of Zhytomyr region will not suffer from low temperatures
by Specialists of management of agroindustrial development of regional state administration together with scientists of Institute of agriculture of Polissya NAAS of Ukraine and employees of the Zhytomyr regional center for Hydrometeorology constantly carried out monitoring of wintering of winter crops in farms of the region with the aim of setting up proper care of crops and implementation of certain organizational and technical measures in the recovery period of their spring growing season. "The height of the snow cover in our regions from 7 to 18 cm, which allows to make a prediction – the crops do not suffer from low temperatures", – said the head of Department of agroindustrial development of regional state administration Ruslan kyryliuk. The results of the surveys in a good state of winter crops are in the area of 64.1 ha (42%),satisfactory – 71 thousand hectares (47%), in weak and liquefied only in size 16, 5 thousand hectares (11%). Reference: In all categories of farms sowed winter crops for grain 155,9 thousand ha (112% of the forecast), which is 17.4 thousand hectares more than last year.
