In Zhytomyr region, units of the armed forces of other States will participate in multinational exercises APU in 2017
President Petro Poroshenko signed a Decree that approved the plan of carrying out multinational doctrines with participation of divisions of Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of our country and their participation in multinational doctrines outside of Ukraine in 2017. The document also defines the procedure for the admission of divisions of armed forces of other States on the territory of Ukraine in the current year to participate in these exercises. According to the approved Head of state the Plan, January-December 2017 on the territory of Ukraine for participation in multinational doctrines within military cooperation will be allowed up to 3,000 troops with weapons and military equipment, up to 6 aircraft and helicopters of the United States, other States members of NATO and States participating in the program "Partnership for peace" for up to 365 days. Up to 2,500 troops of the United States, other States members of NATO and States participating in the program "Partnership for peace" with weapons and military equipment, to 10 ships, 5 submarines, 10 aircraft and helicopters, up to 60 units of wheeled equipment will be allowed for up to 25 days in July – September 2017 in the framework of the Ukrainian-American exercises "sea breeze – 2017". In addition, to participate in the Ukrainian-American exercise "Rapid Trident – 2017" will be allowed up to 2,000 troops of the United States, other States members of NATO and States participating in the program "Partnership for peace" with weapons and military equipment, up to 6 aircraft, 10 helicopters for up to 25 days in June – November. The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to ensure the timely admission and removal from the territory of Ukraine of divisions of armed forces of other States specified in this Decree, as well as the safety of our citizens and other States during these exercises. The Minister of defence of Ukraine is responsible for the preparation and holding in 2017 of the multinational military exercises on the territory of Ukraine, participation of Ukrainian armed forces units in multinational military exercises outside of our state this year. The President also signed the Law of Ukraine No. 1826-VIII "On approval of the decision of the President of Ukraine on admission of units of armed forces of other States on the territory of Ukraine in 2017 to participate in multinational military exercises" on January 19 of this year, which the Parliament had agreed the relevant decision of the President.
