Chernivtsi came to the final selection of cities-partners of the project “the Partnership for modernisation: energy efficiency in hospitals”
1 February in Chernivtsi was held a meeting of the evaluation Committee of the project “the Partnership for modernisation: energy efficiency in hospitals” that is running the German society for international cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany, with the city leaders and representatives of Executive bodies of city Council within the last selection of cities-partners of the project. The city of Chernivtsi were included in final selection of cities-partners of the project together with Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv and Sumy. The cities of the short list will be organized visits of the GIZ evaluation for interviews and discussions. Visits the evaluation team will conduct the final selection of the two partner cities. Project representatives noted that the recent rapid growth of energy prices led to substantial economic pressure on health care institutions and restricted the scope of their financial possibilities. Most of the buildings of hospitals built in the 1950s and 1960s. Technical systems and components are outdated and lack proper maintenance. The Ministry of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine (Minregion) acts as a Ministry partner in this project of bilateral cooperation. Now began the last selection of cities-partners of the project, after the evaluation of applications included in the short list – the Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv and Sumy. Consideration was taken of the application from the city of Kremenchug, Lviv, Mariupol, Chernivtsi, Poltava, Bila Tserkva, Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv, Cherkassy, Khmelnitsky, Sumy, Kharkov, Kupyansk, Kharkov. Besides, there were received two bids from cities, which, unfortunately, did not meet the stated requirements, and therefore was not considered. The partner cities will receive support in the form of various instruments and measures, including the transfer of “know-how”, trainings, consultations and expert advice in areas such as the introduction of energy monitoring and energy management, development of action plans of energy development, planning energy efficiency measures.
