According to the chief of service on children Affairs of regional state administration Tatiana Dorosh, 2016 services for children were aimed at implementation of the state policy on adoption, custody/guardianship, protection of the rights of children displaced from the temporarily occupied territory or area of the antiterrorist operation, improvement of mechanisms of social and legal protection of children, the intensification of work on development of family forms of upbringing orphans and children deprived of parental care. "The region is inhabited by less than 1% of children-orphans and children deprived of parental care total number of children population. As of 01.01.2017 year, this is 2523 status of children. Within 2016 adopted 35 children, among them: 28 – citizens of Ukraine, 7 – foreigners. Formed database of potential adoptive parents, which has 59 families and individuals. 4 of them families wishing to adopt a child under one year, 20 families – child up to 3 years, 19 families – child up to 5 years, 17 families-candidates –children up to 10 years. It should be noted that 3 families want to adopt 2 children, one family wants to adopt 3 children. As of 01.01.2017, the number of children under guardianship is 1748 children (69.3 per cent of the total number of orphans and children deprived of parental care). 641 child and those of their number living in 55 children's homes of family type and 150 foster families. For 2016 created 4 children's homes of family type and foster families 12. Arranged and Dallastown in existing foster families and orphanages of family type 80 children. The relevant services are continuously monitored to ensure adequate living conditions for the functioning of children's homes of family type and foster families", - said the official. Also, efforts are made in placing children in family care, including their return to family forms of education after the device state institutions. "In addition, services for children of the region shall exercise control over observance of the legislation of Ukraine on protection of rights of 26 children-orphans, children deprived of parental care, who moved from the temporarily occupied territory or area of the antiterrorist operation" - said the official.
