Exhibition “Volyn in the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921”
Volyn local history Museum presented the exhibition “Volyn in the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921” with the participation of Deputy of the mayor Sergey Grigorenko. The exhibition is timed to 100 anniversary of the founding of the Central Rada and the beginning of the revolution. It presents materials from the collections of the Museum, which illustrate the constituent process in the Volyn region during the formation of the Ukrainian national Republic and the Ukrainian State of Pavlo Skoropadsky. This, in particular, photographs, documents, awards volunteer military formation of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. Of the many documents you can learn about the struggle of locals in the establishment of the Ukrainian statehood. A unique exhibit is the original copy of the invoice written by the hand of the Chairman of the Central Rada Mykhailo Hrushevskyi. Opening remarks at the opening of the exhibition declared the Director of the Volyn regional Museum Anatoly sylyuk. A thorough analysis of those events was made by scientists Chudnovskogo national University named after Lesya Ukrainka and Volyn Institute of postgraduate pedagogical education. Sergei Grigorenko expressed his gratitude to the scientists who prepared the exhibition, and underlined its importance for the city and region and assured that the city government will promote the holding of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Central Council. “This short period of our history speaks to the fact that Ukraine is a European country. Perhaps it was the time of the romantics, not ready for action, because after the revolution must be States, but they chose the right direction,” said Sergei Grigorenko.
