In the Rivne region, remanded and dismissed from the post of Deputy chief district police,who received 300 US dollars of improper benefits
the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region is carried out pre-trial investigation and procedural guidance in criminal proceedings against the Deputy chief of one of regional departments of police of GUNP in the Rivne region, who committed a corruption crime. The investigators have established evidence of extortion and receiving police officer of illegal benefit in the sum of 300 US dollars from the citizen for the return of his vehicle seized during the investigation of criminal proceedings on the fact of a traffic accident. 16.03.2017 police reported about suspicion in Commission of a corruption offense under part 3 St. 368 criminal code of Ukraine (obtaining illegal benefit by the official which holds responsible position, combined with extortion). Against the said person the court applied the measure of restraint in form of detention with possibility of bail. Also, the petition of Prosecutor's office of Rivne region court 21.03.2017 police was suspended from his post. Pre-trial investigation in the specified criminal proceedings continues. Reference: for a specified criminal offence penalized by deprivation of liberty for a period of 5 till 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
