In Chernigov arrived Peace Corps volunteers USA
From March 15 to may 30 in Chernigov will be volunteers from the US Peace Corps. Peace Corps volunteers who are US citizens, will work in Ukraine for the project "Youth development" and "community Development" at the invitation of the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine, Ministry of youth and sports of Ukraine, Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine. The program "community Development" operates in Ukraine for more than 20 years, this year it will represent 43 Americans from different States. Representatives of the US Peace Corps in the Chernigov city Council met the Deputy mayor Olga Honch. She briefed the guests about the main directions of development of Chernihiv tavikovice forward to continued cooperation. - One of the priority strategic directions of development of Ukraine is learning a foreign language, and your mission is the spread of English among the wide circles of the Ukrainian society is very relevant and extremely useful, - said Olga Honch. The Deputy mayor wished the American volunteers fruitful work and pleasant stay in Chernigov. Americans about 3 months of internship in various organizations and institutions in the regional center, including: the Department of economic development, Department of culture and tourism of the city Council, regional library. During this time volunteers will live in Ukrainian families, to improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language and to get acquainted with local traditions and way of life. In Chernihiv and other cities in the region, the Americans undergo a preparatory program of their further stay in Ukraine. After completing the preparatory stage, the American volunteers will work 2 years in other regions of Ukraine at state or private institutions, schools, community organizations and social services.
