On the streets of Ternopil was thousands cross road
Crowded procession, during which carried 80-tilogurowep wooden cross and prayed for peace and integrity of Ukraine, took place on 2 April, the Central streets of Ternopil. Annual prayer event organised by the UGCC in time of Lent, led by Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ternopil-zborivs'kyi Vasyl (Semeniuk), have informed in a press-service of the Archdiocese. The cross was carried by the priests, government officials, Roman Catholic Church, volunteers, soldiers, relatives of fallen ATO soldiers, refugees from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. At a prayer station read excerpts from the Holy gospel, spiritual reflections on Christ's passion. True pondered the verses of the famous poet Ternopil Oleg Hermann, which was specially written for the occasion. Intertwined with the plots in the way of the Cross, the verses sounded a particularly deep analysis of moral and spiritual ills of Ukrainian society and the call to repentance and indifference during the war. Participation in the procession was attended by the Chairman of regional state administration Stepan Barna, Chairman of the regional Council Victor Ovcharuk, the mayor of Ternopol Sergey Nadal. "The time of lent – a special time in the life of every Christian, - said Stepan Barna. – We reflect on the agony of Jesus Christ, and at the same time think over your life. This is the way of the cross each has its own intentions, but we share one thing – a request for peace, our children who are in the zone of the ATO, about the wounded, the families of the fallen Heroes".
