Editors of regional Newspapers of the region learned to work in market conditions
Editors and representatives of the municipal publications of the region took part in the training: "the ECONOMY of the REFORMED PRINT media: ISSUES, RISKS, OPPORTUNITIES". The papers addressed ways of creating on the basis of former public Newspapers modern profitable private enterprises. The participants practiced to draw up economic strategies and business plans for the development of the media, shaping the structure of income and expenses. For example, several local Newspapers made financial micro analysis of creative publishing, the editors ' offices, increase circulation subscription and retail sales, expanding the sources of income and reduce production costs. Representatives of editions of acquainted with the principles of formation of retail prices of publications, not to sell Newspapers at a loss. A separate unit of issues discussed concerned ways of increasing revenue from ads, pricing of advertising space, possibilities of cooperation efforts in the advertising industry. Their experiences shared Valeriy Gorobets, media coach, expert of the joint programme EU-Council of Europe "Strengthening information society in Ukraine", editor Novotroitskiy district newspaper "Labour glory" (Kherson region), Honored journalist of Ukraine. The training is conducted in Ternopil press club under the project "Integrated support of print media in different regions of Ukraine in the process of privatization and the establishment of their independent activities" with the support of "Ukrainian media project" (U-Media), implemented by Internews in Ukraine and funded by the U.S. Agency for international development (USAID).
