Stepan Barna: the Program "Affordable medicine" can help to reduce the mortality rate in region
From 1 April 2017, the Government launched the program "Affordable medicine" that systematically reimbursement government the cost of medicines for patients with cardiovascular diseases, bronchial asthma and diabetes mellitus type II. This program is already operational and in the Ternopil region. The corresponding order, which allows you to send more than 13 million 600 thousand UAH. for the purchase of medicines for residents of the region, was signed by the Chairman of the Ternopol regional state administration, Stepan Barna. The head of the region encourages area residents to actively use this program and ask for free medicines. "In the field of a sufficiently large number of people in need of treatment and social protection. Now the residents of the region are not able fully to provide their treatment, so this state is going to meet them," said Stepan Barna. It should be noted that in region the number of registered who need this help is nearly 686 thousand persons, i.e. more than half of area residents in need of treatment, and then dodatkowo financial assistance to get it. "On the one hand, the program "Affordable medicine" needs to improve social protection of the population of the region, and with another – to reduce the percentage mortality. This step will be useful in the implementation of the next initiatives aimed at improving the quality of living standards of the region", – said Stepan Barna. In addition, as noted by the Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Yurii Yurik, the regional state administration carried out all the organizational activities in the context of the districts in our area. Held by the organizing Committee with heads of medical institutions of the region and heads of departments of health. Now signed agreements with 70 pharmacies in the area who are willing to participate in this program. Joined the program and all municipal pharmacy.
