Sergey Savchuk: the EU supports Ukraine's course for development of the market of renewable energy sources

Among the recent successes of the Chairman of the Agency noted the adoption by Parliament of a law which will stimulate the production of heat from alternative sources. Now the law signed by the President of Ukraine. Another important initiative is the bill No. 6081, which proposes to eliminate the speculative component in the connection of renewable energy to the grid. The key idea is to set a specific validity period of technical conditions for connection to networks, namely, 3 years. The bill approved at the meetings of the two relevant committees of the VRU. "Improving the legislative field, we pursued only one goal – to create favorable conditions for business and investors in this sphere, - said Sergey Savchuk and explained: In Ukraine, it is imperative to increase the capacity of renewable energy facilities. This, in turn, will require about 16 billion euros of investments until 2020". Discussing a number of other bills drafted by the Agency, the parties also noted that one of the important factors for market development of "green" projects and investment is the large-scale popularization. Public events, especially international level, is a powerful platform for dialogue between the authorities and business, presentations of investment-attractive projects, establishing business relations and conducting negotiations with potential investors. One of these platforms will be the international investment business forum on renewable energy Saee plans to hold this fall.
