In Chernihiv, builders turned 180 degrees sculpture of the famous Ukrainian Hetman Bogdan Khmelnitsky, which is located in the eponymous square. Now Hetman stands facing the Central square and Pyatnitskaya Church. Then the builders will continue working on the reconstruction of the pedestal. The sculpture of Bogdan Khmelnitsky is the work of famous sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze. As you know, the author of the monument - a famous Chernihiv architect Andrey Carnbeg. He wanted to place a piece of Khmelnytskyi face to the Central square and Pyatnitskaya Church. But in the course of construction then the party leadership has forced builders to expand the sculpture in the opposite direction, face to the then regional party.
