The Rivne region: on the meeting of the interdepartmental working group at the Prosecutor's office discussed the issues of combating illegal logging
Extremely important for our region the problem of illegal logging and implementation of a forest. The consequences of the destruction and theft of this green wealth are impressive, and the related illicit transactions lead to significant losses to the state budget. Therefore, one of the main tasks set before the law enforcement agencies of the state, in particular Rivne region, - coordinated work to identify and prevent fraud with the forest. The issues of combating illegal transactions ladyraven in the region were discussed 31.05.2017 at the next meeting of the interdepartmental working group under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Rivne region Miroslav Patskan. In the meeting took part representatives of law enforcement agencies and bodies of the state control in Rivne region workers of the office of the Prosecutor of the region, heads of local prosecutors. From the beginning, law enforcement authorities of the Rovno region initiated 68 criminal proceedings on the facts of illegal forest felling (article 246 criminal code). Seized vehicle seized Ladarevo volume of nearly 1 thousand cubic meters, financial and economic documentation. These data were presented at the meeting on results of work of the joint interagency working group (which was founded and is valid from August 2016) of the number of prosecutors, police, SBU, customs authorities, specialists of regional management of forest and hunting economy, State environmental Inspectorate, Management of the Western office of Deramciclane in the Rivne region. It was noted the effectiveness of law enforcement on the sale of the seized ladyraven and circulation of funds in the state. In particular, as an example, was given the criminal proceedings, during the investigation, which at the initiative of the Prosecutor the court granted permission for the implementation of evidence, namely wood with a total volume of 210 cubic meters, of which currently sold 61 cubic meters of timber worth 86 thousand UAH. Also already sent to the court indictment in relation to one of the Rangers, due to negligence which cut down trees in the amount of 250 thousand UAH. Now the fate of the accused the court will decide. In future police of Rivne region must operate in the same offensive movement to stop the forest of fraud and criminal schemes. With these words addressed to the assembled participants of the meeting the Deputy Prosecutor of the Rivne region Miroslav Patskan. He drew attention to the necessity of intensifying work in this area to prevent forest offence on the objects of natural reserve Fund, as well as damages caused by the unauthorized cutting of forests. To improve ways of solving existing problem issues, suspension illegal "purges" of the forest and its illicit export, the activities of all the services oriented to countering these negative phenomena. All participants of the interagency working group made suggestions to the action plan and identified specific ways of its further work necessary for the effective protection of forest resources in the region. The Prosecutor's office of Rivne region appeals to concerned citizens with the request to assist law enforcement and inform them of the facts of plunder of the forests with the aim of achieving effective results in the fight against crimes in the sphere of the environment.
