POPULATION The number of the existing population in the city of Chernihiv in April 2017 is 290.8 thousand. Since the beginning of this year, the number of inhabitants of the regional centre has fallen by 808 people. During January - March were born in the city 519 kids. THE LABOUR MARKET In January-March 2017 at the enterprises, institutions and organizations of Chernigov (with number of employees 10 persons or more) was taken 4 153 people, then fired 4 406 (respectively 5.7% and 6% average number of full-time employees). In General, the average number of full-time employees made up 72 884 (39,4% of the total number in region). Platstation average monthly nominal wages of workers of enterprises in comparison with January-March 2016, up 38.7% and amounted to UAH 4 923. This is 1.5 times more than the legally established minimum wage (UAH 3 200), but 1.4% less than the average regional rate (4 991 UAH). In April the average monthly nominal wage in Chernihiv region was 5324 in Ukraine - UAH 6659. It is 1.7 times higher than the minimum wage (3200 UAH) and 42% - than a year ago. CAPITAL INVESTMENT In January-March 2017, enterprises and organizations of the city at the expense of all sources of financing mastered 180 764 thousand UAH of capital investment, which is 18.1% of the total volume in the region. Per person of the population mastered 629,7 UAH of capital investments. A significant share of capital investments into machines, equipment or 37.4%, in residential and non-residential buildings - 36% in the vehicle - 15,9%, in engineering structures is 6.9%. The main source of funding for capital investment are own funds of enterprises and organizations, through which were of 76.6%. Funds for public housing construction amounted to 8.8%, at the expense of state and local budgets mastered 7.5% of the investment. Capital investment in residential buildings was 46 854 thousand UAH (51.9% of the volume of capital investments in residential buildings in the area). INDUSTRY In January-March 2017 enterprises of the regional center have implemented industrial products (goods, services) 2 821,6 million, which is 48.9% of the total volume of realized industrial products in the region. The enterprises of processing industry was sold of 41.4% of all products, including 19,6% - for the production of food products and beverages, 8.4% in mechanical engineering (except for repair and installation of machinery and equipment), 4,4% - textiles, apparel, leather, leather goods and other materials, 3,1% - production of rubber and plastic products other non-metallic mineral products. The share of enterprises for the supply of electricity, gas and steam was 56.5%. The volume of sales per 1 person of population amounted to UAH 9 634,5 (for region - 5553,7 UAH). Outside of Ukraine sold products to 265 million UAH. The largest share in the export of products of machine-building enterprises (31,6%), textile production, clothing manufacturing, leather and leather products (31.2%) and manufacture of food products and beverages (20.3 per cent). In comparison with January-March, 2016 of the enterprise of Chernihiv increased production of woolen fabrics, bed linen, shoes, paper and paperboard, hand tools, certain types of furniture; reduced - certain types of garments, trays, pallets, tools, detergents and cleaning shampoos, traffic lights, filtering or purifying machinery and apparatus for liquids, fire extinguishers. Among the food products more than last year, made of fresh or chilled cattle meat, pasta, chocolate and products containing cocoa, soft drinks. Less - fresh or chilled meat of pigs, frozen meat of bovine animals, sausages, processed liquid milk, milk products, flour, cereals, bread and bakery products non-durable storage of gingerbread and similar products mineral carbonated water. CONSTRUCTION In January-March 2017 enterprises of the city construction work performed in the amount of 73 189 thousand UAH. During this period, through the construction of new homes and expansion of the existing housing stock commissioned 18 residential buildings with a total area of 15 m2 429 (52.1% of the total area of residential buildings area). The amount adopted in the operation of housing compared with January - March 2016 increased 67.8%. TRANSPORT Trucks, with consideration of passengers carried by physical persons-entrepreneurs, in January-March 2017 delivered to the customer 186,9 thousand tons of cargo, which is 90.7 per cent from January-March 2016 the Volume of cargo turnover grew 1.5 times and amounted to 112.4 million tons/km. Passenger transport of the regional centre, taking into account transportation performed by individuals-entrepreneurs, in January - March 2017 transported 8.4 million passengers, which is 8.8% more than in January-March 2016 the Volume of passenger traffic grew by 0.6% and amounted to 82.6 million pass/km.
