Chernivtsi is ready to strengthen contacts with the Slovak Republic
Chernivtsi mayor Alex Kaspruk met with newly appointed Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Mr. Miroslav Mougey, who made his first working visit to Bukovina. The meeting was also attended by the economic diplomat, Mr. Daniel Caban. During the formal meeting of the diplomats with the leadership of the region and the city of Chernivtsi were discussed the main directions of deepening cooperation in the context of current Ukrainian-Slovak intergovernmental agreements, in particular in cross-border cultural and economic cooperation, as well as some practical aspects of visa-free regime and bring Ukraine closer to the EU. Miroslav Moist stressed that the Slovak Republic is interested in establishing relations with Bukovina and ready to become her partner. "Slovakia has a good experience in attracting foreign investment, so we are interested not only attract investment, but also to exchange experience," – said Miroslav Moist. The diplomat also confirmed that Slovakia will continue to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and decisions that contribute to establishing peace in the country. Chernivtsi mayor briefed the Consul General with the main challenges and directions of development of the city and outlined prospects for cooperation – strengthen the contact with the Slovak Republic in the field of science, culture and economy to the possible use in Chernivtsi Slovak trolleybus and search for reliable partners in the framework of cross-border cooperation "Hungary – Slovakia – Romania –Ukraine" European neighbourhood instrument for 2014-2020.
