Lviv rescuers are concerned by the increase in the number of fires and the increasing deaths of people on them
Main Department of State service of Ukraine on emergency situations in the Lviv region are concerned about the increase in the number of fires in the new 2016 and the deaths of people on them. So, with the beginning of the year the region recorded 44 fire, which killed 2 people. The vast majority of the perpetrators of the disaster – the people themselves. After all, the neglect of basic fire safety regulations leads eventually to irreparable harm. Of greatest concern is that population constituting the so-called risk groups: socially disadvantaged seven’families, large families and low income, lonely elderly people, citizens who are prone to alcohol abuse and the homeless. Most often the trouble comes in those homes, where heating, electricity obsolete and long time properly maintained. Also the danger awaiting those who violate the fire safety rules at operation of furnaces, electric and gas equipment, admits negligence while Smoking. Main Department of State service of Ukraine for emergency situations in Lviv region reminds: * use only factory electric and gas heating means; * do not leave gas stove on during the night; * using electric heaters, check the wiring, circuits, sockets and plugs of the devices; * do not store in attics and in basements flammable substances; * keep dangerous items such as matches and lighters, only in areas inaccessible to children; * do not use air and gas channels as chimneys; * the room heating stove to gas or firewood, check with’appeared in the crack or cracks. This can be done by burning in a furnace a little bit of paper and subsequently examining it from the outside — in places the cracks will be clearly visible traces of soot. Cracks need to cover. Repair of furnaces can be assigned only to specialists. Special caution should be exercised homeowners with trees’the wooden ceiling.
