In Ternopil region will celebrate the 125th anniversary since the birth of Eugene Konovalets
the 125th anniversary since the birth of the outstanding figure of Ukrainian history Eugene Konovalets in the region will be celebrated on June 14. The corresponding order was signed by the Chairman of the Ternopol regional state administration, Stepan Barna. In particular, for the purpose of honoring the memory of an outstanding figure of the Ukrainian national liberation movement planned to hold a scientific-practical conference, memory lessons, educational hours, oral magazines, meetings of “round tables”, to organize thematic exhibitions of literature in the educational institutions and cultural institutions of the region, devoted to the life and work of the outstanding figure of Ukrainian history. During may-June to make documentaries and photo exhibitions, displays in museums, archives, libraries, dedicated to the life and work of Eugene Konovalets. 14 June 2016 will be organized a ceremony of laying flowers to the monuments and memorials to the fighters for freedom of Ukraine, to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, the participants of anti-terrorist operation in the settlements of the region on the occasion of the 125 anniversary since the birth of Eugene Konovalets. Also by this time, will be landscaped burial grounds and contents in good condition the monuments, memorable signs related to the life and activity of the fighters for independence of Ukraine in XX century, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, and members of the antiterrorist operation. The district administrations, Executive committees of Berezhany, Kremenets, Ternopil, Chortkiv town councils requested to consider the designation of new or renaming existing streets, and squares in the settlements of the region after a prominent figure of the Ukrainian national liberation movement Eugene Konovalets. We will remind, Evgeny Mikhailovich Konovalets (b. 14 June 1891 Zashkiv — † 23 may 1938, Rotterdam, the Netherlands) — Colonel UNR Army, the harbour and SVR, the President of Ukrainian nationalists (1927), the first Chairman of the OUN.
