In the Zhytomyr region processing new passport as ID cards will begin January 11

11 January 2016 the migration service starts the introduction of the passport of the citizen of Ukraine in the form of a plastic card (in European countries this document is called ID card). A new document will be issued free of charge to citizens who have reached 16 years of age and requested a passport of citizen of Ukraine for the first time. Plastic card, which will be issued to Ukrainian citizens instead of a passport of citizen of Ukraine, is more secure against forgery and is intended to confirm the identity and citizenship on the territory of Ukraine. The chip will be written to the personal and biometric data of the document owner, including place of residence and marital status. The introduction of digital signature and other data is technically possible, but requires legal regulation. Together with the introduction of ID cards, the migration service will implement the content of the Unified state demographic registry – electronic database on the basis for identification. The experience of European countries, the process of documenting citizens ' ID cards will take 4-5 years 2016 migration service hopes to issue more than 2 million documents of the new sample. Mandatory replacement of the passport of the citizen of Ukraine the document of the new sample is not provided. This was reported in the Zhytomyr regional state administration
