In Transcarpathia rescuers liquidate the consequences of bad weather (UPDATED)
During 10-11 January on the territory of Transcarpathian region have recorded significant rainfall. Overall in the region fell to 15-20, sometimes 25-30 mm of rain. This caused the elevation of the groundwater level, and therefore – the flooding of certain domohozjajstv and houses. In some places on the rivers formed ice jams. From the weather affected 5 districts – Tyachiv, Rakhiv, Vynohradiv, Mukachevo and Irshava. In Tyachiv district in the village of Oak there was a partial flooding of the basement. Karl Marx. The soldiers of the 3rd state fire and rescue unit worked ahead of the curve – they pumped out about 13 cubic meters of water and thus saved residential homes from the effects of bad weather. In the Intermountain area as a result of ice formed two ice jams that threatened flooding of households. In the village on the river Kolochava the jam of ice was the size 10x25 M. fighters of the state fire and rescue post the village together with the local population with the help of improvised means eliminated the deadlock and prevented a significant rise in water level in the river. In Pylypets village on the river Repinka formed ice jam size 25x200 M. night fighters DPRC-4 SMT Migr’I broke in the ice holes through which water could freely pass downstream. At night the ice came down completely, freeing the bed of the pond. Two ice jams formed in Irshava district – on the river Irshava in sec. Village on the river Borzhava in sec. Big Rostoka. The size of the first congestion amounted 15õ500 m, and the second – 20 m wide and 1.7 km long. In both cases, due to warming and ice rain came down by gravity.
