Rescuers remind that it should beware of places where the ice swept snow. The latter acts like a blanket: the snow ice is growing slower and sometimes it also happens that across the pond the thickness of the exposed ice is 10 cm, and under the snow – only 3 cm. Remember that ice is always thinner where in the reservoir the flow of warm waste water from industrial plants, growing shrubs or reeds, where the flow is quick or hit the springs. Journalists present at the exercises, noted that citizens from all very accepting of preventive measures taken by the operational-rescue service for ice-covered waters, and some fishermen even helped the workers of gschs and actively share with others their experiences, how to behave in the winter on ponds and rivers, to preserve life.
