Soon the Transcarpathians, and Ukrainians in General, expects the third and final big celebration of Christmas and new cycle – the Baptism of the Lord. On this day parishioners of Holy water, which retains its healing properties during the year, as well as dive into the hole. But to bathe in the Baptism should be carefully prepared and adhered to all safety rules, as for the body of this procedure – it's a huge stress. First of all you should be familiar with contraindications to swimming in the hole. And it – cardiovascular disease, inflammation of the kidneys, diseases of the respiratory tract and broncho-pulmonary system, gynecological disorders, epilepsy, Allergy to cold, problems with the thyroid gland. If you have one or more of the listed diseases, it is best to refrain from diving into the ice-hole on Epiphany. When healthy’I do not interfere with water procedures, prepare thoroughly for the celebration. A week before swimming in an ice hole begin to prepare the body to cold. The first days you can just go out for a few seconds on a cold balcony, then add wiping soaked in cold water towel and finally – pouring ice water from a shower or bucket. Before diving into the hole for two hours to eat a hearty – the body needs resources for heating. But in any case do not enter the water in a state of alcoholic JV’intoxication! Bring a blanket or towel that can stand up to strip, and extra towels to dry your hair after bathing. It is desirable that the clothes were comfortable and you could dress quickly after landfall. Before entering the water, do exercises, run and jump to warm up the body. For immersion mandatory’sure to choose the hole, where there is an equipped descent to the water to avoid slipping and to be easy and fast to get out of the icy water. If you go too slowly, you can get seriously bitten if very quickly – it can cause a sharp rise in pressure. For your own safety do not jump and do not dive sharply into the water. When you come to the knee, rinse and continue the dive. At the same time ensure that children are not bathed in cold water without adult supervision.
